Join ATD Greater Cleveland and NEOASTD (Northeast Ohio Chapter of ASTD) for a look at Generations Working Together!
In today’s workplace, the possibility exists that four generations could be interacting with one another. Each generation could be represented by a co-worker, customer, or even by the presence of a particular generation's mindset in the corporate culture itself.
Every generation has a unique definition of work ethic, methods for accomplishing tasks, teamwork, and providing good customer service. Because of these unique perspectives, a sign of respect offered by one generation may be perceived as an affront to another.
While many organizations have provided training on generational differences, this training tends to be general characteristics of each generation that do not necessarily change people’s behavior. This discussion provides examples of how generational characteristics affect people’s behavioral choices regarding work habits, communication style and customer service.
